You can choose from two homepage content sections or not have one at all:
Option One
Hidden Content Section
Assuming your home page is not an action page, leave your home page's Content → Content empty to hide this section.
Option Two
Normal Content Section
Populate your home page's Content → Content with anything and it will show up.
Option Three
Blog Section
To replace your normal homepage content section with a Blog type page's latest posts, go to the blog page's Settings → Tags and tag it layout homepage blog.
The blog page's Settings → Headline will be the headline of the section, and the Settings → Social media → Excerpt for Facebook, search engines will be the subheadline, unless you've disabled the subheadline by following the instructions here.
OPTIONAL: It's also advisable to go to this blog page's Blog Settings and changing the Number of posts to show at a time to 5.
